Vic: No investigation needed - Premier

Victorian Premier JOHN BRUMBY is remaining defiant in the face of calls for an independent
investigation .. into claims a minister was involved in a police corruption scandal.

Mr BRUMBY says Roads Minister TIM PALLAS enjoys his full support .. despite allegations
he tipped former top cop NOEL ASHBY off about a secret police investigation.

He says Mr PALLAS has told him the claims have no substance .. and any talk of sacking
him is hypothetical.

The state opposition has called for an investigation .. saying the truth won't be known
without it.
