Blue Demons rally, come up short in OT

DePaul had two chances to grab one rebound and earn a victory. Instead, the Blue Demons came up empty-handed.

With the Blue Demons holding a one-point lead near the end of regulation, Ball State missed consecutive shots. On the third try, Jarrod Jones was fouled going to the basket.

He split two free throws with three seconds remaining.

Instead of a tough and gritty comeback victory, the game went to overtime. In the extra session, the Blue Demons lost 79-77 after Cardinals freshman reserve guard Tyrae Robinson hit a left-handed floater in the lane with 2.6 seconds remaining Saturday night at McGrath Center.
