It may be lights out for Roper

The biggest assignment rookie linebacker John Roper blew thisweekend wasn't at Soldier Field Sunday night.

The second-round draft choice failed to show up at practiceSaturday. He reportedly told coaches the reason was the power wentout in his apartment.

"I've got nothing to say," Roper said Sunday.

One reason Roper was not a first-round pick was a questionabout his attitude.
