FONTANA - You don't want to swim with the fishes. But you can seesome at a special artist showcase.

Stop by the City Council Foyer, 8353 Sierra Ave., from 5 p.m. to5:45 p.m. Tuesday to take a look at mixed-media floral watercolorpaintings Underwater Seascape by artist Lucian Van Oosten.

The exhibit will hang at City Hall through Sept. 29 and a freeFamily Fun Day event with Van Oosten will be held from 1 to 4 p.m.July 28 at the Art Depot, 16822 Spring St.

The event will include a mobile tide pool, fish printing and more.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA - Caricature artist Michael Garisek recently drewat a children's party for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's family. Hisnext gig - the Terra Vista Town Center.

Garisek will be doing caricatures during a guitar performance onFriday from 6 to 9 p.m. The event, to take place at the fountainbetween Target and Mervyns, is part of a hot summer nights series atthe center.

The Terra Vista Town Center is at the northeast corner of FoothillBoulevard and Haven Avenue.

The California Urban Water Conservation Council has created theH2Ouse Water Saver Home Web site, an online encyclopedia thatincludes conservation techniques for a homeowner like how to read awater meter, install water-efficient appliances and fixtures,conserve water through creative landscape design, detect and repairleaks and save water during a drought.

Visitors to the Web site can view water saving tips room-by-roomwith the virtual home tour, find out some of the best ways to savewater in and around your home, use the water budget calculator tofigure out how much water is being used at home and look at thegarden guide to find inspiration for water conserving gardens.

FONTANA - Doing a Internet search? Better use www.goodsearch.com.That way money will go to the new Lewis Library and TechnologyCenter.

The Yahoo-powered search engine donates half of its revenue -about a penny per search - to the not-for-profit organizationselected by its users.

All you have to do is enter the Fontana Library Foundation on thesite as the charity you would like to support.

The library under construction downtown is set to open in thespring of 2008.

REDLANDS - Annoyed by stray shopping carts? Freshly scrawledgraffiti ruining your day? Well, now you can do something about iteasily. The city established a hot line to battle blight.

Besides graffiti and carts, residents can call in illegal signsand other things that deteriorate neighborhoods.

Looking out for seniors

COLTON - Seniors in need of a helping hand around the house canrequest the services of a new business in town.

Home Instead Senior Care has opened a new office at 1430 E. CooleySt. A grand opening celebration is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.June 1.

The company's Riverside location, which opened in 1999, willremain open.
